Can I claim my money back?

Hello, I have just completed 22 years in the Army. Some time in the 90s I took out kit insurance. I paid a set amount of money on a monthly basis to a company. I never claimed on that insurance until 2006 when my medals got stolen. Since then I haven't claimed for anything. I recently telephoned my insurance company to try to cancel my policy but didn't have my policy number to hand so gave them my name. I was told that they have no record of me however they have been taking my monthly payments from my bank. Do you think that I am entitled to claim any money back from them if they have no record of me but have been taking my money?

I suspect that would have found you if you had given the policy number, did you ring the correct insurance company?

No. Normally in these cases you provide them with the evidence of payment and they can use the reference number to find you.
