I forgot to say:
I'm lucky in that I have a dishwasher and can be sure that my utensils are nicely cleaned - but my slow cooker pot can't be put in there so I do my very best to make sure it's completely spotless inside and out.
Even with clean hands I still try to avoid touching food at all if it's going to stand for any length of time.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Later I checked the Instruction Book for my slow cooker and it says:-
"Never put frozen meat or poultry in your slow cooker"
Does everybody's book say that?Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Yes please! And could make me some sandwiches for my takeway using home made Cinnamon and Sultana Bread too?
On topic bit:
Another thing I do when handling meat at any time, not just for the slow cooker, is use metal or plastic utensils and boards and not wood. Good as my dishwasher is I wouldn't feel happy about it getting soaked in blood out of a wooden spoon.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there.
