Immediately Dangerous and gas switched off

House has been bought and asked supplier to change meter from prepayment to credit meter.
Utility company came and switched it off (Capped at mains) as it was found to be Immediately Dangerous. 2 gas fires were not in a safe state (coals missing and tiles broken). The gas hob was removed and not capped off. This caused a massive leak when they performed a leak test.
Now in a position to replace gas fires and connect gas cooker.
How do i get the gas switched back on (Its capped off at the mains)?
Obviously they need to check the gas fire installation to make sure it working before issuing a gas certificate?

Call a local Gas Safe Registered Engineer and get him to refit the new stuff and he'll do all the checks you need done and issue a safety certificate that you can present to the Utility company.0

No..get a gas safe engineer to do all the work and there is no need to contact the utility company. The GSR person can reconnect and test as appropriate.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0
