New Ping Clubs Online - Fake!

I have just found out that Ping Golf Clubs are never sold online (unless second hand via Ebay etc.) therefore, if you but a new one online it will be a fake. I have just discovered this to my cost and my credit card company wanted me to get a letter from a golf shop confirming the club I received was fake (even as a non professional I could see, but they understandably wanted an expert). When I went in to American Golf before even looking at the club I was told Ping clubs are never sold online. They then kindly gave me a letter confirming this, and advice to go back to them when I next need a club.
Hope this saves someone else from having this hassle.

Do they actually mean ping don't officially authorized dealers to sell them. That's a different thing.
This site looks legitimate to me, but I may be wrong?

When accusing legitimate companies of a criminal activity, checking that your "facts" are correct before posting isn't a bad idea.

Go to the Ping UK website and look up their authorised dealers
    http://www.ping.com/dealerlocator/default.aspx#retailers-anchor
(there are hundreds around the UK), and you will find that a great many of these sell online.
Here's one not too far from me.

Not Bull actually, if you click on that to buy it then gives you the option to book an instore custom fitting or call to purchase - so no option to actually make the purchase online.

Possibly, but I was told that Ping clubs are never sold online as a new club (so ones on Ebay or Gumtree from private sellers are okay).

That site does look genuine, and if you look at the Ping clubs on this site it tells you "This item can only be ordered by phone. Call us now for lowest UK price - guaranteed", so it looks like what I was told by a reputable Golf Shop is correct.

My post seems to have caused some upset which is a shame. I was sent a fake club by an on-line store claiming to be UK Based but it turns out they are based in China and the club they sent me was fake. I went to a reputable golf shop and they advised me Ping do not sell on-line. I would have found this helpful when I was looking for a club for my husbands birthday so I thought it would be good to let people know about this online so they don't have the same hassle as I have had. I guess I will learn from this and let people make their own (potentially expensive) mistakes in the future.

    Don't worry.

I'm afraid this forum is patrolled by a group of people who aren't here to be helpful to others (or have a vent themselves). Their purpose is to find find any opportunity to belittle or castigate other posters.

I presume they are getting kicked around in real life and find that telling off people on the internet gives them a feeling of self importance and worth.

    Sad.
There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.

It must just be a UK thing as I have managed to do so on a US site http://www.golfdiscount.com/checkout/cart
