Hi.
I have shares which I need to sell. Where is the best place to do that.
I am a complete luddite and attempted to sell them online without any luck. The phone calls are costing a fortune and take 5 mins before it connects. I then get told I am 6 0r 7 in the queue. This could cost the price of the shares alone in just the call.
Two of the certificates are missing, presumed thrown and I do believe without those I cannot sell.
Do Banks or Building societies offer this service?

brodiesprime,
You need to get your house in order first.
If you do not have the certificates, then it is too early to start talking about who can offer the selling service.
I assume you know which companies the shares were bought in. Therefore your first port of call needs to be the company's Registrars and you need to jump through the hoops needed to get a duplicate certificate.
Details of the company Registrars can typically be found on the "Investor Relations" pages of the company website, or by calling the "Investor Relations" team at the company.
As you say, no sale without certificates. This is for very obvious reasons !0
