I also thought the Cops would make enquiries but from what I was told the attitude was no MOT, is an offence and if you have a defence then the Magistrates are their to decide upon that, the cops job is writing tickets not riding around MOT stations.
And away they went.
Bad attitude on the part of the police. No MOT is NOT an offence if you are going to a pre-booked MOT test.0 -

It would be an exempt vehicle:
s.6,(2),(a),(i) & (ii), The Motor Vehicles (Tests) Regulations 1981.0 -
As others have said - get the MOT done just before you go.0

The Cops answer was, I don't care, no MOT, you get a ticket, argue at court.
Probably will be found not guilty, but it is two days off work without pay to save £100 ticket.
Failed the attitude test.
OP just get the MOT done, all this mucking about for the sake of a few £, seriously worth it??“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Theres no declaration needed and it'll be perfectly legal parked off road.
Remember not to leave the handbrake on though.0 -
IIRC, the offence is 'using' a vehicle without an MOT...therefore I suppose an offence is only committed if the vehicle is being 'used', though whether that extends to being parked up?
Either way, as others have said, you can get a car MOTd at anytime.0 -

MOT offences are using on a road so if parked off road there isn't an offence.0 -
Driving without an MOT is a non-endorseable offence, so no points.
Driving an unroadworthy car does carry points - even if driving to a pre-booked MOT0
