Renting In December

Is 1st December a good or bad time to move if you are renting?
My husband thinks there won't be much available (which, I imagine, could be true when buying) but as we are renting I think it is a good time to look. If there are any damp problems we are more likely to identify them and also if it is not sunny we are less likely to think a place is bright when it is quite dark most of the time, lol. Also I imagine rental properties are coming empty at a constant rate all year or have I got that wrong?

btw we are in Bournemouth.

Both really. IME there is much less on the market but what there is shifts more slowly and landlords and agents are much more accommodating with enquiries. Less supply but more of a buyers market if you will.
