Caught in internet scam!

I don't know where to post this so will try here.
I have received a scam email that is very different from anything that I have had before. After corresponding in a very normal way with someone from a Pen Pal website they suddenly offered me £2.5 million. I know that it is a scam but I am worried that the scammers have more than the usual amount of information on me like my real name and my I.P. Address. I gave no other information to the scammers or the penpal but sent the penpal a picture of myself.
I am worried now because the scammers know that I realise it is a scam and may come after me because they must have spent a lot of time and money setting this scam up with false web sites etc.
The penpal and the scammers are linked because although they are using different computers and I.P. addresses, they use the same (unusual) proxy server.
Is there anywhere I can report this scam to? I did an internet search and only came up with sites you can report to but they do not cover specific scams.
I never normally get involved with scam emails but was cleverly set up with this one.

Oh no thats spoilt things now, as a Widow with no Children I was looking for someone who has never had anything to bequeath my estate to, someone who had nothing and I could give them a chance in life to live the life I have had.
Everywhere I go I always find the people I am looking for are already rich.
Just my luck I run in to someone trying to do what I want to do.
So sorry to have bothered you.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
Sorry Mark, I don't understand the purpose of the post0

Stop communicating with the scammer(s) - they've probably got a few people on the hook at the same time, so they'll just move on to some other potential mug....."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

They pretty much cant do anything just by knowing your IP address unless you have opened any attachments from them and the picture you sent them wasn't you nake where they may try and blackmail you.
please tell me you never opened any attachments from them? Even what may have been a picture?Dont rock the boat

If you're worried about them knowing your IP address, power off your PC, turn off your router, give it a couple of minutes and turn everything back on again and you'll find you have a new IP address..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Thanks for the helpful replies. I have scanned my system and found no problems. I did not open any attachments but I did do a Google search on the Pakistan Arab Trust Company and it looks very dodgy.

You cant find someone by the IP address without a court order to the ISP.
My IP says im 40 miles away in another town.
Marks post is a wind them up and tell them if they were not scammers you would have befriended them and left them money when you pass away.
I baited one for quite a while, Pretending to be flying all over the world on a daily basis. I would then ignore them for a few days them contact again saying im off again in 48 hours.
When i got bored i gave them the local police station number to contact me for the payment, I didnt trust my bank account details in an email.
P C Plod (local police station number), Shame i couldnt get to hear that conversation.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Download and install a trial programme called HITMAN, this will tell you if you have any malware etc and how to get rid of it.0
