Afternoon all.
Woke up with stonking headache so took a dose each of Ibuprofen and Paracetamol and went back to bed and it has now cleared.
We are going to see the possible new house at 6pm, I am so excited! :j
The bloke sounded really nice/professional on the phone the other day but sounded a bit cocky today which was a bit of a bummer. My estate agent called me back yesterday and their branch in that town has given me the price bracket they think it is in which is pretty much the prices I'd mentioned on my leafletting campaign. The only difference is I wouldn't pay my top price for a house backing onto the railway as, even though I actually like backing onto a railway (far prefer that to someone else's garden) I need to bear in mind that most people wouldn't like it so it will affect the value if we sell.
Lunch was from stores and dinner will be too. I didn't manage the roast yesterday (I went out to buy cauliflower and realised how sunny it was, really not roast dinner weather!) We'll probably have the YS pasta/Chinese curry ready meals from the freezer.

Forgot to say, today is payday, yippee!
And also the first time of my savings standing order whisking away several hundred to my not easily accessed account, *gulp*. The last time I actually saved anything was when I was 27 and for my first car and even then I just didn't invoice at work for a few weeks so had it in one lump sum.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Hello Everyone
Ziggy - Glad you are ok, but sorry to hear the black dog is on your back. We all appreciate your hard work in keeping the daily thread up & running so much, & love hearing about your crafty projects. Take care.
BB - thanks very much for your cheerleading! I did do it. Yes fist pumps and high fives all round. Have a great time at the theatre.
Jo Jo -£1 in the tips jar today. Not much but it all helps
FVD - it's so exciting about your new place. Really hope this one comes off. And we'll done on your savings too.
It's Maths not magic - your online business sounds interesting, can you say more?
MM - your shop front sounds lovely. I always enjoy the day the window cleaner comes & gets rid of all the little people fingerprints.
Hannah - sounds like you got loads done today. No coincidence the kids are back at school
Supermum -well done on giving up smoking that's got to be the best financial move you can make.
Twiggy - great to hear your energy bill has come down.
Koseluer - Morocco stew sounds lovely. What's in it?
Well today was another good day in the business. Two in a row, I won't know what to do with myself. It was particularly good between 9 and 11 which worked well for me as I then had time to bake before lunch started, & had a quiet hour to clean down between 2 and 3. Bliss.
I made my rent plus my rates by an enormous margin of £2. Yippee! So they are paid. My business credit card is due by the 19th so I decided to use a small amount of my OD to pay it. I am not concerned as the amount will be repaid by the end of the week unless some unforseen awful event occurs. I just didn't want to get to Friday have the cash but have missed the number of working days required to reach the bank and get a late fee. I am pleased at the direction the cc is going. It is now £700 less than at its peak when I was having to borrow money to make up staff wages.
I sat down tonight and wrote to the senior manager at the ombudsman that I'd been given the details of. It was quite cathartic. I've raised 2 areas for investigation. 1. Their service itself and 2. The time they've allowed the insurer to respond which is still being allowed now 7 and a half months on. So that felt good.
I haven't had to shop hand to mouth once this week after our Sunday stock up. It's been so nice to know what's available for meals. Really hope we can keep it up as makes my life so much easier.
Let son water the plants again for 50p. Its quite a long job as we have numerous things in pots and in this weather they all need it. Hopefully teaching him about money and gardening at the same time.
line drying a load overnight, if we can beat our electricity bill of £27 last month that would be good.
I got £10 in nectar points off my work shopping this morning which was the 2000 I earned. And now have a 90p brand match for tommorow.
A personal NSD as well.
Night everyone.

Evening all,
Well done and good luck on the no smoking front SuperMum, great for your health and your pocket. Fingers crossed on the house viewing FV. Hi to everyone else too.
Didn't manage to post yesterday, so my list covers my MSE efforts over both days:
All meals from stores
No spend day today
Had to buy rat food yesterday, used a coupon for some bedding at the same time £1 off, on checking the receipt, the bedding was already discounted by £1.50 from usual price, so made a nice saving there.
No heating on today, was on for an hour yesterday.
Made up the rest of my time owed at work now, so no loss of earnings
Got CC statement so updated debts paid by Xmas thread - over 50% of my target achieved

So... The house was fabulous! Nicer even than the one that prompted us to put the house on the market in the first place. The couple were really nice and we seemed to have some rapport with them (the bloke had a room full of guitars which pleased DH and when I asked if that was his day job he turned out to be a freelance journalist!)
The house has been extended on the first floor and the kitchen is lovely and they have also put in a downstairs loo. The garage has been converted to an office/studio and is already soundproofed. DH and DS are already both staking claims to it. The couple are going to get in some estate agents to value it before hopefully selling it privately to us, I just have to hope they don't come up with a figure higher than my estate agent did though it would definitely be worth the top of the range they gave me.
In other good news I came back from the yellow sticker run with three lasagnes, three packs of grapes, a peshwari naan, a pack of sausage rolls and six hot cross buns for around £3.60 :TMake £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
