Good Morning everyone, we were woken up at 7 this morning by the hooter on the very large new cruise ship that is based in Southampton for this summer season, three long and very noisy blasts I'm sure meant that everyone in the area was instantly awake! never mind it's a beautiful day out there and we have just had the best meal of our year which was the first freshly cut asparagus spears from our garden bed and a soft boiled egg to dip them in. Oh my, it really doesn't get any better than that. I was planning to go into the city but we're forecast quite hot for today so I may put off the visit until a less nice day. I don't want to miss time in the garden in the sun. Thanks for being so supportive yesterday, it was double worry for me as DD had a suspicious mole and had an appointment to get it examined at exactly the same time as our vet visit, I was a long way above the ceiling! all is well however and she is OK about the piggy so hopefully today will be just normal routine, there's a lot to be said for standard days after one like yesterday!
Have yourselves a good one all, Lyn xxx.0 -
Morning all
Fish have been fed, hubby has had breakfast & been dropped at work with a packup.
I have a few errands to run today & I need to sort out a bag of toys that a friend dropped off for the DGC.
Apart from that I'm hoping to sit in the sun for a while & do some crochet.
Have a good day everyone.

Good Morning All,
I do hope everyone is well.
It's another dull and wet day here so no laundry will be drying outside today. At least the gales have died down to just quite windy now.
I have a long list of chores to get through but DS is starting work late today so he will help with the heavier chores. DH has a busy schedule at work so he won't be home for his lunch so that will free up some more of my time.
I have been helping DS with his bedroom (he is a bit of a hoarder) so he his discarded a huge amount of clothes etc so my plan is to kondo his remaining clothes back into the drawers, i will have to you tube some videos on folding boxers etc.
I haven't thought about what to cook for tonight so i better go and have a poke about in the freezers.
Have a great day everyone

Csarina hope DH is home soon.
Mrs LW sorry to hear about Olaf.
It was pleasant earlier on when I took the dog out but its gone cooler and just started raining so I've had to dash out and get the washing. We had a new TD delivered on Monday,DS is going to have the old one back as DH wanted to put a vented one in when we move so I've stuck the hose out of the conservatory window for now.I also bought a laptop off a neighbour, very little used and only a year old so DS can have the old one. He's still not moved all his stuff to his new house yet,his excuse is the TV and broadband arent connected yet but I think he's dragging his heels cos he's still suffering the after effects of splitting from DGS mum
DH & I are still coughing and spluttering-seems to have gone on for weeks
I'm having a quiet day getting to know my new laptop.Yesterday was my day for minding DGS and I'm always absolutely shattered afterards, and at 17 mths is discovering toddler tantrums
Ok I've got hm gammon and sweetcorn chowder for my lunch and am feeling peckish so hope you all have a nice afternoon x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -

Hi all - sorry, I'm still playing catch-up, as my netbook is working at the pace of a very geriatric snail.
I'm between dogs - Jessie 'Doodle went home on Monday, and I have two cocker spaniels due to arrive on the evening of 21st, so this week is a bit empty, iyswim.
Olaf - safe now in the Summerlands. x
Lyn, you did all you could for the little guy; I know the hardest thing in the world is to offer them the ultimate kindness.Speaking of friends, I am having to distance myself a little bit from a very close friend as she is pouring all her troubles onto my broad shoulders and I can feel myself 'filling up'. I had a breakdown last Summer because I took on all my friends problems and didn't take care of myself so I have learned my lesson. I do love her very much and she has very few people in her life that she can talk to about her worries but I need to think about my family too.I'm now allowed to leave the room without being followed, I can also come in from the garden by myselfScampi's confidence has really grown over the last few days. He peeps around the door to make sure I'm still about, then goes back to whatever he was busy doing.
Hi again,

I'll get my coat.....If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I really want to see someone fold a dog :rotfl:
Had a tiring morning as DH had a fall after breakfast and had to haul him up. He is getting more tired and managed to find a special seat cushion from America which arrived this morning so hopefully that will make him more comfortable.
I also managed to drag the superking memory mattress topper upstairs, unpack it and heave it on top of our bed so hope that will cushion his bones better and help him rest.
I wanted to use up odds and ends so made chicken breasts, peppers, onions, courgette and potato in a one pot pan for our lunch.
I still need to look out clean clothes to take to DD in hospital later this afternoon but having a sit down first to catch my breath.
csarina
Hope DH is able to come home soon.
