O/S Daily Wednesday 15th April 2015
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine

Morning everyone
Birthday wishes to those celebrating a birthday, hope you have a great day x
Hugs and get well wishes to those that want/need them.
Now light, light cloud but not so cold. Load of washing ready to go on the line, will do that shortly.
DH up and gone to work stupid early. DS1 now getting ready for work. Will wake DS2 shortly so he can get ready for school.
Dinner last night was fish, chips and beans/veg for the menfolk. I had fish, jacket potato and veg. Tonight we’re going to have smoked sausage pasta with crème fraiche sauce.
Work yesterday was quite steady – had a difficult case which took some delicate handling so that took my attention for quite a bit of the morning. I then did a slightly different job in the afternoon. Only working until lunchtime today then home to do my normal chores.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning everyone :hello:
It's so foggy out this morning that I can't see to the other side of the road. I hope the girls will be careful on their way to school this morning as they have quite a few roads to cross. I will be going out later for a late birthday treat from my friend who has been in Spain over Easter. She has paid for us to go and have a 'high tea' at a cafe in Westward Ho! at lunchtime so that will be a treat. I am very nervous about going out but it is so kind of her to have arranged it it would be churlish not to go.
We are having steak pie for tea so I just need to sort out some veg to go with it. I can't see me being too hungry after my lunch so there should be some leftovers. We are coming to the end of my birthday cake as well thank goodness. Hubby went out and bought one for me but it was so dry and tasteless. The girls are forcing it down though and it will be gone by today. I wish my DD15 had made me one as her cakes are amazing, so light and fluffy. In fact, I will ask her to make one anyway as I like to have something to offer to friend when they come round for a cuppa.
Speaking of friends, I am having to distance myself a little bit from a very close friend as she is pouring all her troubles onto my broad shoulders and I can feel myself 'filling up'. I had a breakdown last Summer because I took on all my friends problems and didn't take care of myself so I have learned my lesson. I do love her very much and she has very few people in her life that she can talk to about her worries but I need to think about my family too.
All I have to do today is get showered and dressed so I will get off my bum and jump in the shower. Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
Good morning all,
Thank you nmic for starting today's thread.
It looks as though it might be a lovely day and I have washing to do, so WM will be on shortly.
We don't need to go out, but I do need to clean some windows and put the Dyson round.
DD is with her Consultant this morning and has to have x rays on her leg, so will await the outcome, but she seems to be in good spirits.
Elona I hope DH is feeling a little better today.
Lyn I hope you are all OK, little Olaf never knew he had so many friends, but I think we all feel that we knew him.
Have a good day all and I hope our Scottish friends have some better weather today.

MrsLW I'm sorry to hear about Olaf  RIP little man x
I'm now allowed to leave the room without being followed, I can also come in from the garden by myselfScampi's confidence has really grown over the last few days. He peeps around the door to make sure I'm still about, then goes back to whatever he was busy doing.
My herbs are doing well, the mint, coriander and chives – which I thought the chickens had killed off at the end of last last year! - are doing well. I planted more coriander and chive seeds so have ended up with too many of thoseThe basil and parsley look strong and healthy but seem to be very slow growing. I have six pots in the kitchen but not enough room for them on the windowsill. I'm going to line them up on the end of the kitchen table, against the wall, and hope they do well there.
Master tru's insurance cheque has turned up, I've nagged him to bank it today so he can pay us back asap. It doesn't cover what we lent him because he bought a bigger van, but at least my account won't look quite as pathetic as it does at the moment, lol. He's going to pay the rest back in weekly installments.
It's cool and misty here this morning, it's supposed to be hot later though. I'll do the outdoor jobs this morning - I might even be able to work in the greenhouse without interference! - then I can avoid the sun this afternoon.

Morning everyone.
Another grey day on the west coast. Was woken by one of the cockerels crowing its head off for about 20 minutes.
The trip to Glasgow will happen today as the rain has stopped. Need to collect a parcel from the PO so will do that on the way through town.
Yesterday I ended up stripping the two beds and putting a mega wash on, should be dry by now.
Hope everyone has a good day.0 -
Morning all,
Lovely day in the making here, a bit cool atm but will be nice later. Work for me today at the quieter site, also its with a really challenging client today which Is not always enjoyable, but often challenging ! A long day ahead I think.
Just put the sc on with a beef casserole in so will look forward to that, Its so nice coming on from work and having it all done.
Did an online shop last night and cleaned my kitchen and swept through downstairs so its looking ok for now.
Mrs LW so sorry about Olaf RIP little piggy xx
