We recently received a renewal notice for our car insurance with Direct Line which despite having the maximumno claims discount had gone up by approx £50 a year!! When I contacted them, I was advised that they had re graded post codes and as a result of this there had been an increase in my policy! REALLY!!!!? I wrote and complained and then decide to see what they would quote online, and guess what....ALMOST £80 cheaper than the renewal policy!!!
I rang them and asked them why, and after being put on hold a number of times they agreed to provide the cover at the online quote!! which was cheaper than the other companies I contacted.
MESSAGE TO ALL!!! CHECK YOUR RENEWAL NOTICE AND CHALLENGE THEM OVER THE POST CODE RATING!!!!
