Maybe different councils have different policies regarding council tax.
My mother's house had furniture in it; council never asked; they told me straight away without my asking that council tax wouldn't be payable for 6 months from the date of probate. (Nottingham).0 -

no, i just checked the council website and yep, they should be exempt.0 -
