  • Unfortunately not Taff ,but the bank I am dealing with held my account anyway .this is why I can't understand how they unearthed it but have no records apart from the loan agreement numbers. To me the bank have admitted that PPI was added to the loan but do not want to give the FOS any more info which seems very odd to me . I don't expect to win this case due to lack of evidence from the bank .i have given evidence including the banks own letter showing PPI added to the loan . Thanks all for views and information given.

Quite possible they have 2 types of account numbers for loans, one with and one without PPI - if your account has been closed for more than 6 years it is quite possible they have deleted it in line with DPA

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

  • That's fine but I just find it strange how the bank have a loan agreement number but not the amount of the loan or duration on record.
