Trucks were in the 'encourage' list for the most part. The Greens seem to be quite big on encouraging stuff.

I had read that they wanted to limit the size of trucks and of course the perennial, put more on rail. Could be quite good for me if they do the former first; double the need for truck drivers until they build the rail heads, extra freight carriages, trans shipment yards, additional rails.

Turning off most of the power stations within a decade:eek:

5 Years ago they'd have kept them and fuelled them with live millionaire business owners; now it's like they're hardly trying to come up with bat-guano crazy policies any more :(

Even since the last Euros election they've gotten rid of the policy which said that there would be no more GDP increases. They now think that GDP needs to increase to get out of the current mess.

They are only trying to help.

...I have never seen a party with so many policies. I reckon it would take them until 2100 to get them all through Parliament.....

Clearly, you have little experience of the British Left.:)

It's fairly typical for the Revolutionary Posadist Popular Liberation Front to have polices that cover each and every eventuality, including a detailed position statement on the current political situation in Azerbaijan.

So they're planning to run a deficit of about 60% of GDP by the end of the parliament. They shouldn't have bothered costing everything over a five year term as the country will be bankrupt after about 6 months and we'd all be living in mud huts again.

    You don't understand.

They're going to have a Wealth Tax. That's £20 bn. And they're going stop all this tax avoidance nonsense and raise another £30 bn. So they will have an extra £50 bn to spend on all those goodies.

I think that policy has only temporarily been suspended.

To this end, the Citizens' Income (see EC730) will allow the current dependence on economic growth to cease, and allow zero or negative growth to be feasible without individual hardship should this be necessary on the grounds of sustainability. (see PB104-106)

Isn't the problem in part at least that they don't have a leadership structure? ....

Well, they have had a 'leadership structure' for some years. Before that they simply had 'principal speakers'. (Athough I'm not sure what practical difference it makes.) Of course back in the day, before they had a leader, their principal speaker was David Icke.
It's always useful to remember that name.

Sensible policies for a better Britain.

    I've always believed that voters should be required to complete a simple questionaire when casting their vote, with questions such as;

    (a) What year is it?
    (b) Who is the current Prime Minister?
    (c) What year was the Battle of Boroughbridge?

Failure to answer all three questions correctly and your ballot paper gets shredded.
