Since this (ie the original bill) was put to OP eight years after buying - then I'm wondering if OP has asked them words to effect of "What kept you? - either the bill is due and I would have expected one in Year 1 on the one hand or it isn't due at all on the other hand? So which is it?"
It has made things more awkward on that front that OP has gone some way towards paying it - ie setting up those direct debits.0 -
Now, less than 1 year later, they say the fee is £265 and I must pay it or they will send debt recovery agents round.
Unless they are certificated bailiffs, "debt recovery agents" have no powers and without a county court (or similar) judgement, bailiffs cannot seize goodsIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
