Find out how many beds/square footage of neighbours house?

Hi MSERs

Does anyone know how to find out how many bedrooms a style of property has? I have tried to locate builder of the road im looking at, but the houses were built in 1970s so struggling.

I have a council tax tribunal for banding of my home. I have a small 3 bed home, but my banding has been increased. The comparison home cited is a house i am certain is a genuine builder-built 4 bed in adjacent street. The same people have lived in this home since it was built as far as i know so no internet info available.
Their next door neighbours house sold last year and is not extended. It was listed as a 4 bedroom house.

Grateful for ideas!
thanks

Seems simple enough - knock on the door and ask.

You could look at rightmove and zoopla listings for your street and try to get information about the property that way...or just ask the occupants.

Search your postcode on the EPC register:
    https://www.epcregister.com/reportSearchAddressTerms.html?redirect=reportSearchAddressByPostcode

You'll be able to see EPCs that have been produced, which include square meters. I don't remember if EPCs list number of bedrooms though.

    Thanks folks!

I looked for EPC pinkteapot (following your tip) but there are only 5 out of 40 houses (people don't seem to move much!) And the house concerned wasn't on there.

Looks like im knocking on their door!!
    Thanks!

What makes you think this particular house is the one used for comparison? Wouldn't it be based on a wider range of houses than one?

    Why was your band increased?

Just ask the VOA for details of the house.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

Band increased as "new information came to light" this information is old news as the people inthe houses quoted have been resident a long time. My neighbour opposite has a 4 bed home, yet the VOA incorrectly cited it as a 3 bed for comparison.

The house i posted about is definitely a 4 bed too!!
