I have a large sum maturing on 18th August from a one year fixed rate bond with Birmingham Midshires.
They say their latest rate for same is 6.56% gross. (I claim gross, I don't work)
I'm usually great at Googling but I can't find comparisons between Bonds.
I need to sort out where to put this money asap. Apart from giving you it, ha ha !)
Any help please. Much appreciated.

i think Leeds BS are offering 6.70 gross with their one/two/three year postal bonds - my nationwide bond expires in october and Leeds' rate seems the best so far.BLOODBATH IN THE EVENING THEN? :shocked: OR PERHAPS THE AFTERNOON? OR THE MORNING? OH, FORGET THIS MALARKEY!

OK thats 6.56% Gross, what does that equate to Net which was the rate I quoted, i.e 5.3% NET which isn't far off some Isa's being quotedStavros, I've ALREADY been offered 6.56% gross by BM so
why you said that !Liquidity is when you look at your investment portfolio and **** your pants0 -
I see BM are offering an internet one year fixed rate band 6.70% but getting my money from the ordinary BM a/c to the internet one could cause me problems & lack of interest.
Amount is £25,000 so I need it to be gaining interest asap.
if u transferring funds within the same organisation, u shouldnt suffer any loss of interest, might be worth you asking BM whether you would lose interest. ( just say that if u are going to lose interest u might as well move to someone else paying the same rate, even though u arent intending to
)
theres no reason at all why transferring to BM 1 year fixed online bond should cause any problems or loss of interest.
its true some accounts pay nearly as much net as some isas pay "tax free".
