Neighbour drilling my house

Should people be able to drill into the outside of your house?
We live in a detached house with a downstairs loo attached to the side of the house which goes up to the boundary.
New neighbours moved in a couple of months ago. They're putting up a massive fence which is rather irritating but it blocks their light not ours so not the end of the world. Just now though, the builders have been drilling the wall of my downstairs loo to attach a gate post!
I asked them what they were doing and they said the neighbour has told us they were going to be doing it. The neighbour had told us they were putting up a fence, not that they would be drilling into my wall
Bloody cheek - Not a lot I can do now cos they've already done it!
So angry. I dare say we'll do nothing about it as there's no point starting an argument with new neighbour, but I can't help feeling rather annoyed!

http://www.gardenlaw.co.uk/ is a good site for free advice.
You may be willing to leave the gate post in position but you need to let your neighbour know he/she shouldn't have attached it to your house and that you don't want them doing anything else to your property.0 -
Thanks for that, will have a good read through.0
