    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hi all

Everyone seems really organised and some good ideas in here!

My list (yes shhh some things have been on there since Friday!)

    Sort books for ebay/freecycle/charity

    Spare bookshelf onto ebay

Budget/accounts - we switched to plusnet and paid the year's line rental up front so need to have a bit of a re-jig as this obviously cost more than we would usually spend!

    Meal plans/shopping list - done

Figure out plans for my birthday on Friday (tbh would rather stay in with a DVD so that will probably be pretty easy to organise haha!)

    Grocery shop
Workout - am going to try interval training at the park eek!
Packed lunch to work - done.

Hope everyone is having a good Monday :)

Hello, absentee checking in! Shop computer had a big time fail ( hoping DS1 can fix it this week) and my tablet charger fell to bits so have been having internet withdrawal symptoms!

Back in business with the tablet, so today, I will:

Change litters and bunny houses ...litters done, bunnies done
    B/L/D from stores
Shop closed Mondays so housework day
    Clean kitchen...done
    Hoover through....downstairs done, upstairs done.
    Sort kitchen cupboard....done
    Recycling bin out...done
Heating off until later when it gets chilly...done
    Check bank...done
Check one poll etc....done ( suddenly devoid of surveys on one poll, funny that always happens once I get past £30 with it!)
    Write some letters
Get dads birthday card ready to post tomorrow ( he's got his pressie already)
    Continue decluttering.

    Hope everyone is OK:-)

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi All

La Escocesa - Welcome back stranger :)

Nice to read everyones busy days. Today I rang the Ombudsman again first thing. And again got the voice mail of my named contact. About an hour later I get an email telling me that she is moving on. No further explanation, like is she leaving etc, it makes me feel like she got fed up dealing with my case & has gone 'you do it' to the new guy.
Anyway, I wrote back to him saying this is not ok. I am really unhappy that they've taken since August already to reach a decision on my case, & still are giving more time to the insurer it would appear to provide more information. I explained in no uncertain terms that if I feel its dragging on any further I will start a complaint on the service levels to the independant body who monitor standards at the Ombudsman. But I seriously feel like I need my head checked with all this going on. The play within the play...

Today was decent at the business. As it was an inset day, no regulars really, as people still not in the daily grind.
    I made £4.50 in tips
Have closed the gap on money needed by wednesday to £150 now, I have 2 days including the wednesday. I think this is achievable.
Reconcilled my banking. Very oddly, my personal bank have decided to bounce a £10 cheque, but with no sign of why. Am within operating limits of account. I rang up & even THEY couldnt answer the question! They've asked me to give them till end of tommorow to figure it out. What a weird one.
Husband got 2 for 1 on DVDs at the library so we have Boxtrolls & Paddington for the next couple of days child watching.
Walked & cycled everywhere today so no travel costs.
Right, well have a nice evening all.
    Bob

    Hi,
Late today, as kept getting side tracked. Today's little money saving efforts have been:
*Free fitness - brisk walk to deliver more election leaflets. Nice sunny morning for it.
*Did laundry overnight on cheap tariff. It all line-dried very quickly. Washer set on timer for another cheap load tonight.
*Did rubber chicken. Divvied up leftovers from yesterday's roast to make fajhitas, stir-fry, 2 packed lunches, a tray of slices in gravy for the freezer (free roast dinner another week) & a bowl of gribbly bits for cat. Carcass in slow cooker to make stock overnight.
*Made tomorrow's packed lunch & work snacks.
*Dismantled my home made Easter tree & carefully packed away decorations (& my bunny ears!) ready for next year.
*Paid 2 x 50p pieces into my sealed pot.
    *NSD
*Amazed to find out we earned £49 interest paid on our emergency fund..............which we may soon have need of, as the Boiler Saga is still ongoing. Gas engineer booked for tomorrow 1pm. I sooooo hope it's something affordable, but the words 'new boiler' could well be uttered. Dreading the financial implications, but am getting to the point where I'd honestly snog almost anybody for a decent hot bath!
Off upstairs now to fetch big cardi rather than put fire on......then it's knitting time. Welcome back La E..,.& çheer ups to all who are low. Ziggy - one tiny positive for you.....at least you weren't awakened by a set of naughty cat teeth closing around your ankle this morning, which was how I started the day x
    Bye all,

Emailed a company who have continued taking money out of my account after cancellation to tell them off.

Checked my online banking and checked my money for the week.

Other than that it's been pretty average.

    Hi all

Hit the £100 mark in PayPal today so another withdrawal to my bank account.

Also found out my bonus from March which is significantly higher than I was expecting so feeling a bit better after this weekend when I was thinking my money was just being pulled in too many directions.
  • Nice busy thread, everyone seems on it today!

    My contribution for the day:
All meals from stores - HM pork and pineapple burgers for dinner, which were lovely.
Posted an item sold on eb@y
Half hour extra at work, making up time for a sick day.
Collected a birthday present for niece, also got a boys toy for the present box using a special buy 2 toys offer. However, when collecting, the offer didn't come up. Pre-MSE I would have just cancelled one of the items and left it, but instead I went to customer services and the manager honoured the offer. So the extra toy worked out at £2, which is pretty good value.
Shopping done at @ldi and @sda - I checked on shopitize beforehand and made a note of some offers to look out for (items which were already on the list) and got these in @sda - £1 rewarded back. Also uploaded both receipts to clicksnap and check out smart to enter the prize draw.
Did a couple of consumer surveys to enter into prize draws too.
Updated YNAB - had gone a little bit wrong due to making additional payments to pre-YNAB debt, but not entering them on the budget sheet. Now sorted and shouldn't make that mistake again.
Checked bank account, no surprises, good or bad!
    Organised lunch bag for tomorrow
Organised mine and DD's clothes for morning (great time saver)
Unfortunately the heating has been back on for the last couple of days, very annoyed at this after stating 'no more heating' only at the weekend.
Load of washing done at 30 degrees, quick cycle
    Checked PCL

Good start to the week, hope the rest of the week is the same.

    Evening all :)
Thanks to DNMS for starting the thread, and it is nice to see La Escocesa (sp?) back (I remember you from this thread AGES ago :)) and new posters as well

Late posting today, and can't think of much that I have achieved :o
    Heating off
    Checked banks
Received credit for pinecone survey :)
Got bids on 3 small ebay items but unfortunately not the bigger one
Watered seedlings and a few newly planted things
Used 2 items from the freezer for supper, and some of one item from my weird ingredients collection (some strange herb salt that DD brought back from France years ago :rotfl:)

On the less positive side, OH and I had lunch out, and I have ordered a sandpit table thing from ebay to keep baby GD amused in the garden for the summer. OK, so not huge spends, but spends nonetheless!

Busy day tomorrow to make up for being such a lazybones today :o

Awaiting bankruptcy annulment next week. Everything paid off inc massive £17000 to HMRC. I earnt never more than £25K a year but have paid £36K in tax in 4 yrs. Self employed. Minor partner in husband business. Get taxed on my share of profit which I never receive. Find it v hard to find a book-keeper/accountant who's sympathetic to women and understanding that my paperwork is never perfect :-/. Any ideas? Live nr Windsor. Thanks.

Voyager. Sorry, I saw your post today & meant to comment then got distracted at work.
As you are allowed to earn up to £10,000 per year before tax, the rate you've been taxed at seems very high indeed. I'm not sure of your story, but would recommend you get expert help on this. Having a good accountant is so important. When you say sympathetic to women what do you mean exactly? I have found my accountants very easy to deal with as a woman. One of them is more sympathetic to small companies than the other so they balance out quite well. But I am worried for you if they haven't done right by you which it sounds like they can't have.
I would recommend joining a trade body for your industry as they will be full of good ideas on local accountants that come recommended.
    Hope that is helpful.
