When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and canceling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important
:money:

Morning everyone :) hope the weather was as glorious in whatever part of the country you are as it was here in the south this weekend :T

Quick post for me:

* checked banking & cc statement
* hang out washing
* put chicken in sc
* made dgd's packed lunch
* emailed ebay bidder asking them to pay for broken kindle they bought. Cannot believe I got £11 for something I was going to throw in the bin! :T
* b/l at work
* flylady bedrooms tonight
* NSD

Right if I get all of that done I will be happy! Better get a move on. Have a great day xxx

    Morning Determined
    Good to see you up and at em.
    Just having a quick look at the net before work. How utterly heart breaking about the 7 year old boy who died in the skiing accident. The poor family.
    Have to do a bit of shopping on the way in. Have £2.50 nectar points plus a 50p brand match. Also have to scan my bonus bar code to claim the 1000 bonus nectar points.
    Managed to stick to the meal plan so far so tonight doing a chicken and aubergine curry.
    Anyway I'm off to finish my coffee before work.
    Bye for now.

    Good Morning All

    DNMS - Thanks for starting us off
    La E - Welcome back, we've missed you :T

    Hi to all of the regulars and a BIG welcome to all the newbies, this is a really FAB thread with so many lovely, caring, considerate and supportive people.

    Apologies for absence, it's been a hard couple of weeks - extremely low, lots of little issues adding to (car problems/xbox one issues/printer issues/3 big insurance renewals = lots of month left and not a lot of money - but heyho, life's a rollercoaster but I'm still hanging in there so I suppose that is one positive). My little list:

    Packed lunch for DH & DS - Done
    Stew in SC -
    Prep rest of veg for freezer -
    Ironing -
    Post 2 parcels -
    Chase Microsoft to collect faulty xbox one -
    Continue clear up in attic/craftroom -
    Re-list few bits on facebook -
    Continue purge on Emails -
    Continue purge on FB & Twitter -
    Surveys -
    Check Banks - Done
    Check swapits -
    Enter a few comps -
    All meals from cupboards/fridge/freezer -
    Check https://www.freepostcodelottery.com - Remember there are now 5 chances to win -
    Read -

    Have a great day, love to you all

    Hi again looked up my last posts on here was 3 yrs ago time really goes by to fast unfortunately the debt is about the same at least its not got worse.
    Voyager why did you never get a share of the profit ? Also if every bobys paperwork was perfect there would be next to no jobs for bookkeepers. Any proper accountant/bookkeeper should give you the first hour of there time free to discuss your needs etc. Make sure you question them regarding their knowledge far to many people out there these days doing courses then thinking they are qualified with no experience.
    Today
    Stay way from shops as very p'd off just seen my job advertised for full-time I was part-time still not had a proper letter or P45 been 2 weeks. done

    Send email to old boss who was after me to do some work again explaining I am Free Done did not enjoy it. Yeah she called me up seeing her tomorrow to do some work for her again !!!!

    Look for things to sell Did but not listed anything yet !

    Find Argos Receipt got a cover I purchased couple of weeks ago not been used as kids nanny ordered her own wish she had told me before. Aaaah can't find

    Hope you all have a good day

    Liking your categories, JoJo :)

    I'm off work this week, yippee and posting from bed.

    DH has taken the day too, little does he know that today's plan (when I finally get up) is to clean the house top to bottom in readiness for the surveyor coming tomorrow :rotfl: every room done except the boy cave. Having a rest before I tackle that

    I need to call HMRC to get them to re advise DS of his NI number as he needs to look for a job since he's dropped out of college again (second year running.) i swear they deliberately keep you hanging so you do it online. I don't want to do it online as you have to print out the forms and send them to them. If I could do it and just submit I'd be all over it but I don't want to waste both paper and a stamp!

    Brunch will probably be bacon and scrambled eggs and, since I'm off, a trip to yellow sticker land for something for dinner. Hopefully there will be a good selection as I'll be there earlier than usual.not a brilliant selection but did manage to get a Chinese chicken curry and ham and mushroom tagliatelle, I have other pasta YS meals already in the freezer but DH won't eat pasta so he can have the curry on a night that DS and I have pasta. For tonight we splashed out on the 2 Indian curries and 2 sides for £8 so not such a money saving trip after all!

    Have a great day all, the papers said it would be hotter than Turkey this week, what happened ???
    Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

    December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.10

  • Wrote a huge to do list today, and one was calling about a complaint, was kept on hold for an hour! Checked bank and have less than I thought and not paid til next week. Not sure what I will do now. Feel too proud to ask anyone for help. Hubs has said it will all be okay though. From next month we will be much much better off. This led me to check about the marriage tax allowance, was meant to go live first week of April, still nothing!! Infuriating.

    ♥ Get to the bottom of laundry pile.
    ♥ Sort out kitchen.
    ♥ Clean sideboard.
    ♥ Write up cupboard and freezer inventory.
    ♥ Put bedding away.
    ♥ Finally do the ironing.
    ♥ Prep tea, all from stock. Chicken and tarragon pots.
    ♥ Send away for my free le creuset dish.
    ♥ List more items on eBay.

    Hope everyone has a better day than me today!
    Proud to be dealing with my debts!
