Good Morning everyone, the sun is just trying to break through the clouds at the moment, it's cooler than it has been but not cold. The plumber has just been and fixed out leaky loo cistern so it will be nice not having to dash upastairs in a hurry! I've just finished the ironing and all I have left today is walking my lad in the afternoon and an opticians eye test at 2 this afternoon. We got the new carpet down in the summerhouse yesterday afternoon and there was enough to cover all the floor, OK it doesn't all run in the same direction but it's much better than the assorted bits we had in there before. Today we're having our first picking of asparagas from the garden, Oh so delicious, and like nothing you can buy, the flavour is so different straight after cutting. I have the steamer boiling and ready before I go to cut it and then dash down the garden to fling it in as soon as I can, I love it! We're also enjoying the first rhubarb and I've found a new and yummy way of cooking it in the oven on a baking tray with a little bit of sugar and the zest and juice of an orange in a low oven for half an hour. It's ambrosial!
Hope you all have a good day, Lyn xxx.0 -

Crossing my fingers and toes for you at the hospital.

Positive vibes for DH and hope he feels better soon.
Made DH a cheese omelette for breakfast after we both had a good night's sleep. Hung out a load of washing and helped youngest pack to go back to uni which she is doing this morning.
Need to take a couple of parcels down to collect plus and make DH something for lunch before going in to York to get him a new electric razor as his has just given up.
It will seem strange to have just the two of us in the house for a while but it means I can focus on him after all the excitement of the wedding blessing, meeting long lost friends etc.
DH is in recliner "watching" politics on tv but it seems to have sent him to sleep, bless him.
Hugs to all"This site is addictive!"

Its not the pacemaker I am afraid of Judi, its OH's reaction to it and having to live with it. He is the worlds worst hypocondriac....it will be all 'woe is me, I have a pacemaker'. I have lived with him far too long not o know what will happen. He is the only person I know who faints when he vomits. Sorry TMI.
I phoned the hospital this morning, he was sitting out in his chair, will see whats greets me when I get in shortly.
The holiday firm came back to me this morning, they have cancelled the booking and I have a refund on its way to me, about 3/4 of what I paid. So not too bad. I will see if he is fit to go anywhere later in the year, may be in September when we see how things pan out.
Washing all dried outside, just got it airing now, Monday clean done as well. Spent the rest of the time, relaxing reading a book.0 -
I had a lovely time today. Found the little nursery, tea room closed on Mondays though. On the way home I stopped at the ferry point for Gigha which did have a little cafe where I had a very MSE and tasty bowl of soup. Even with rain and low cloud the drive and views were really beautiful. I'm so glad I made the effort to go out.

Evening all
What a marathon, hospital for over 4 hours, they were a Dr's short.
It seems the injection worked but it has caused a different problem, so 2 lots of drops 3 times a day for 4 weeks & then back for another appointment, hey ho, it could be worse.

Back from the hospital. OH has been sat out all day. They have decided to do an MRI scan, they seem to be a bit worried about the weakness in his left hand and leg. He also has to have an echo cardiogram to make sure his heart is ok.
He will not be out before Thursday.......They have agreed to keep him until Thursday afternoon as I have an appointment on Thursday morning.
Called at DD2's on the way home, she is going with me to see him tomorrow, I need to fill the car up with fuel.
Just had my supper cheese jacket spud and a sponge pudding.0 -
