O/S Daily Monday 13th April 2015
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine

Morning everyone
Birthday wishes to those celebrating a birthday, hope you have a great day x
Hugs and get well wishes to those that want/need them.
Now light, and frosty but the wind has died down.
DH up and gone to work stupid early. DS1 now getting ready for work. DS2 now getting ready for school.
Lunch yesterday was roast pork, roasties, mash, carrots, broccoli, green beans, peas, Yorkshires and gravy – meat was delicious yet again. There’s some LO’s so that’s all safely in the fridge, I’ll make use of that within the next day or 2. Dinner tonight could be gammon, egg, new pots, peas and onion sauce or I may use up the LO’s from yesterday. I have made a menu plan and have several options, so will go with using up perishable/LO’s first and what fits in with our plans etc.
We went to the caravan yesterday and DH, DS1 and DS2 washed the outside whilst I cleaned out the inside, I also took the bedding off our bed in the caravan and they were washed and line dried yesterday – had to triple peg it so it didn’t fly into neighbours garden! It was dry really quickly. We both felt like we’d actually achieved something – so this next weekend we’ve decided we’ll make a start on the loft and we’re also going to friends next Saturday afternoon as he’s helping us fit the roof box ready for when we go away and need to take an awning. We also have so much stuff – we’re going to start on a big de-clutter, DH seems to now be a bit more onboard. This, of course, is going to reduce the amount of stuff at home and we have quite a lot to sell, so we’ll be going along that route – if it can be sold that’s what we’ll be doing, if not, we’ll try gumtree or charity shops – but I certainly won’t be giving stuff away for next to nothing.
Work will be busy today – not doubt, as they were having problems with the computers yet again when I left on Wednesday – so not sure what’s happened since.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning everyone :hello: and thank you nmlc for starting the thread.
Well I'm a bit sad as everyone is rushing round getting ready for school and hubby has just left for work but it has been a lovely Easter break with nice weather as well. My sister will be flying back this morning from her holiday and will be picking up Milo this afternoon. they have really missed him and it's not hard to see why as he is such a lovely natured dog. Luckily, they go on lots of holidays and short breaks so I will be having him to stay again.
I am planning on staying in and tackling the living room this morning. There are lots of bits in there that don't belong so I will be rehoming them and having a general clean and tidy up. I'm not sure what is for tea yet. I think I have some plaice in the freezer so we may have that.
Elona, the sound of your wedding blessing really touched me, I'm so glad you had a lovely weekend with your DH and all your family. You have made some beautiful memories for everyone.
I hope everyone manages to have a good day whatever they are up to, take care xx0 -
Morning all.
Its a bit cooler here this morning hopefully the sun will make an appearance later on. Off to work for me I am tired after working the weekend so today will be a long day !
Off to the other site today I don't enjoy this one as much but its a lot quieter which is sometimes nice for a break.
OH cooked a lovely roast beef yesterday and did double so we can have it today as well, so a nice easy dinner tonight. I will have to see if we need an online shop too.
Wont be doing a lot more tonight as I am tired but will make sure the kitchen is cleaned after dinner, everything is ok with my world if my kitchen is clean :rotfl:
Elona your weekend sounds lovely, so glad it went well xx
Meanmarie I hope your dil is ok, and recovers soon to be able to come home xx
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning All
Skies fairly bright at the moment but apparently it is going to rain later this morning, my bedding is in the machine, hopefully it can have an hour on the line before the rain starts.
DW emptied, it's not on very much at the moment with just me here, I'm sure that will change when DD gets back. Need to have a clean round as my friend from Oz is coming tomorrow for a few days.
Elona - So glad you had a lovely weekend, what lovely memories for you all.
HH - Hope all goes well for your eye appt.
MM - Here's hoping your DIL has a speedy recovery.
I have another week off, last week seems to have been very long, bet this week flies in! Have a good week. Take care. XX0 -
Morning :hello:
I'm going to pretend yesterday didn't happenNothing went to plan – the person who arranged to pop round was late, they hadn't met the dog yet and he gets wound up at a stranger being in his house. So I settled him down, had a couple of distraction toys ready, etc. and she turned up 45 mins later than arranged. He kicked off a bit (I could hardly expect him to stay settled til she decided to turn up) then peed twice in the house. We went to the pet shop and they'd sold out of what I needed. Nothing was planted, and the weather changed from sun and blue skies to cloudy, cold and wet. Pffft.
Today there will be no visitorsAll other trus are out, so we're going for a long walk along quiet roads this morning. When we get back, we'll stay inside for a while so Scampi can calm down a bit (he's always a bit excited to be let off the lead when we get in, so I don't let him near the chickens for a while) then we'll go outside and I'll attempt some gardening.
I'll get some hoovering done too, I can now put the hoover on without it being growled at and attacked – life is starting to get easier again

Morning((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))if you need one.
Well it's Monday again, washing in the machine, went down to put it on, made tea and toast and came back to bed for an hour.
Will go in and see OH this afternoon, not expecting him out until tomorrow. I have emailed to cancel the holiday, he is just not fit to go.
At DD2's yesterday for supper, cooked by my DGD.0 -

Morning All,
I do hope that everyone is well.
Weather looks like its going to be really nice today.
DS arrived home last night after nearly three weeks of working away. He said that it was a great experience and would definately do it again.
I have a huge list of chores today but as DS is on a day off i am hoping that he will help with the heavier ones (he usually does), but he has a few things of his own to sort out before going back to his usual workplace tomorrow.
Well it may be a good idea to get off here and go and make a start before i discover its lunch time.
Have a great day everyone

Morning everyone.
Been for a short walk, that wind is still very breezy and very cold.
It was really lovely to hear about your day Elona. it brought a tear to my eyes. Such a wonderful few days in the middle of a difficult time, well done to you, your DH and your family.
Have just ordered a load of seasoned logs :j ready for later on in the year. We had a large amount of freshly cut wood but won't be able to use it this winter, or even next, so rather than scrap around I've just bought some in. They'll be ready to be used in five months time so that's practically perfect.
Now I have to head back out into the cold, got letters and a small parcel to post and then will go to find a 'new to me' garden centre about 40 miles towards Campbeltown. And it's got a tearoom. I love a good tearoom.
Hope everyone has a good day.0
