PPI Reclaim Mishandled

Hi,
I used a well know company to submit my claim with the Ombudsman re: a miss sold PPI. My claim was against Capital One, and the legal firm acting for the claim company submitted my claim too late with the Ombudsman-think the cut off point is 6 months? This is the shortened version, as this whole thing has dragged on for 3 years now with me exchanging numerous emails, and having many telephone conversations with the individual representing this claim company. I complained to this company that I thought my claim against Capital One had been mishandled, which resulted in their representative then advising me that she would be looking into my complaint. A few weeks later I received a lot of paperwork in the post, basically showing all the work they had done on my behalf, and a letter informing me that the legal firm who used to act for them had closed down. I don't think they have actually looked at my complaint at all, but don't know what my next steps should be? Can anybody on here offer me any advice in regards to what I can do now ?
