How imaginative is your family? From Lego pieces to cardboard boxes and toilet rolls or even papier-mâch!, Cadw is challenging the UK public to build replica castles using any materials they have.
It’s all part of our Pack your imagination campaign, backed by Bob Carney, a castle enthusiast and Lego expert from Illinois, who creates replicas of medieval castles (including 13 Welsh structures) in his spare time.
We are inviting families to enter the competition by submitting images or videos of their attempts at building replica castles. From great successes to grand disasters, every imaginative effort is welcomed as an entry.
Submit your castle creations by 30 April, via the Cadw Facebook page or email imagination@equinoxcommunications.co.uk
A shortlist of entries will be displayed in a Facebook album and the overall winners will be chosen by Bob Carney during his visit to Wales in May. Visit the timelapse video page to see Bob’s 50,000 Lego-piece castle being created.
Winning castles will be selected from two regional categories:
north and mid Wales
south and west Wales.
Winners will receive:
£100 worth of Lego vouchers
a fun Lego experience at a Lego Innovation Centre for up to 10 people.
Plus, there are six runner-up prizes of £50 Lego vouchers!
