Popping back on to say bye for now! Assortment of clothes packed, medication packed, weird assortment of food packed and, of course, a few bottles of wine, a couple of books and bird food. We look as if we are going for 2 weeks, not just 5 days!! I just hope we find the caravan still standing and everything in working order after DD and the 3DGDs spent Easter there!! Bye again x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

Morning all.
Had to look twice at the date of the thread. Yes the 12th seemed to fit ok but it didn't seem like a Sunday to me.
Hubby came home last night for a few days. Hes got a few things to sort out at home and then he wants to go away in the caravan for a couple of weeks which will screw the childcare arrangements up for our daughter. Plus the date he wants to come back is the day after my daughter arrives from South Africa so ive told him I'm not missing one single day of not seeing her so he's got to change his plans. I haven't seen her for 4 years for goodness sake! He makes these decisions without consulting me... he knows time is ticking away. Our daughters wedding is in less than one months time which would have been the ideal time to go away (when she is on honeymoon of course).
Not sure whats going on today, a day in the house I think catching up with all his laundry. 3 weeks of it! I think he's got his accounts to do and end of year tax return. Oh what joy!
Hope all went well yesterday Elona and TA, have a lovely time at the caravan. I hope the weather is kind for you (and us whenever we decide to go).
Onwards and forwards,
have a great day all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Not been on for a few days....DS3, DDIL andDGS1(14) went on 10 day holiday to Florida last Sunday, and on Monday DDIL was rushed to hospital with appendicitis, she is recovering very slowly, has fluid on lungs and a raised heart rate and is still in hospital, so they are unlikely to be able to come home on Tuesday night as planned. Luckily all is covered by insurance , but DS1 will miss college, DGS school and its not agood time of year with exams looming. Of course the important part is that DDIL recover completely, but lots of other things can cause problems.
Rain here last night and today has been very heavy, has eased off now but still coming down, so no outdoor activity planned.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend

Good afternoon everyone
Thank you for all my birthday wishes for yesterday, I had a very lovely day and was thoroughly spoilt by my family with lots of cards, flowers and some money to treat myself with something nice. Even the sun shone after a very wet start to the day so that was nice too.
It's a lot cooler here today and I actually was shivering in the wind whilst waiting for a bus earlier. I'd been to church and was given more flowers, people are very kind and thoughtful. I'm not feeling myself today though so I am planning on staying home for a few days to rebalance after all the gadding about I've done over Easter.
The girls go back to school tomorrowand I will really miss having them home, even with all the squabbling and bickering that happens at times. Milo goes back home to my sisters as well tomorrow so that will be sad. I've loved having him here, he has been a really well behaved puppy and it was lovely having a dog around the place too.
Hubby cooked a lovely roast lamb dinner and the girls have done the washing up so I can relax in front of a good film this afternoon. The girls are also doing their washing and finishing off their homework - nothing like leaving it till the last minute! I was exactly the same at their age so I just smile and say nothing.
I hope Elona's blessing went really well yesterday too. Enjoy your caravans Travelling Abuela and nmlc. Hope your hubby gets better soon csarina, what a worry for you. Everyone else, I hope you enjoy the rest of your day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
Well back from the hospital after sitting for 3 hours to speak to a Doctor. When I got there OH was laid flat out, he had collapsed when a nurse made him walk to the toilet, he then went into AF. There was a Dr at the next bed so he saw exactly what happened. His heart had still not settled down when I left.
We saw the Dr, he is going to try OH on some new medication and see if that works, if not it will be a pacemaker. The thought of that fills me with dread. He is bad enough as it is with a pacemaker heaven only knows what he will be like.
So I came home on my own, stopped off at DD2's for some supper, will have a shower and go to bed. I can watch TV up there.
Back for more at the hospital tomorrow.0 -
Csarina...so sorry tohear of OH's recent health problems, hopefully the new medication will work. Look after yourself too, as constantly visiting hospitals can be exhausting, I find it very difficult to keep conversation going with someone who is looking at the same 4 walls all day...but that might just be me!

(((hugs))) for you. I hope they sort your OH soon. Please don't be scared of a pacemaker. My stepfather had one for about 15 years before he died (of something totally unconnected by the way). It gave him a new lease of life. A few elderly people I know have had them and they all reckoned much the same.
Still wading through the laundry but ive dried a lot of it outside before the heavens opened.
Just thought I'd mention for those of you who are on my Friends list on FB. Ive deactivated my account for a time. I'll be back but need some time away from reality at the moment. Ive got enough reality right here right now to cope with without broadening my horizons.:D I'm in self defence mode and I'm bound to say something to someone I might regret since I am taking things far too personally at the moment.

Hugs and positive vibes to meanmarie and csarina and judi.
Had a lovely weekend away. Hired a three bedroom lodge next to the golf club doing the reception and three dds and one SIL as well as me and DH had a room each , a couple of en suites, kitchen and living room - all for less than hiring rooms in main building would have been.
Ceremony was lovely and I blubbed most of the way through as the words were even more meaningful under the circumstances. The vicar very sweetly gave me and DH special chairs so we could be seated during most of the ceremony as I think he realised how weak and wobbly DH was. SIL got to perform most married men's dream of giving away the MIL.;)
It rained early on but the sun came out just in time which felt like a good omen and all family were there as well as some friends DH had not seen for twenty years with a lovely supportive feeling and everyone willing DH to be able to cope with it.
So proud of him and our lovely daughters and son in law who organised it all. Youngest goes back to uni tomorrow so there will just be me and DH at home, unpacking, scaling of laundry mountain, parcels to post for dds and future hospital appointments coming up soon on an urgent basis. Nice to be home but it was lovely to be overlooking the sea and cliffs for a few days.
Nipped to hospital to take DD a few bits she needed and some of the wedding cake and she seems a bit brighter and pleased I could come.
