If you fancy just going for it there is this one.
12 June 15nights, Princess cruises north cape(Fjords) from Southampton
base price is £699pp in an inside cabin
Good cruiseline, good cruise, good price(<£50pppd).
add £300pp for extras and you have a decent first cruise for £1k pp.
There is a great P&O deal 22April from Venice 14n £599 inc flights (£625 solo)0 -
We went on a 4 night cruise with P&O last november to see if we liked it - which was a big YES!
Whilst I can see why people are saying just go for the longer cruise, I think it would have been too bigger a risk for me in case I didn't like it.
Have to say P&O looked after us brilliantly when our departure was delayed by 24hrs0 -
Our first ever cruise was with NCL, it was a 3 nighter out of Miami to Bahamas and NCL's private island on the Sky.
We loved it, went back the next year for the 4 night version. After that we have been on several cruises, 1 a year.
We looked at inside cabins first, mmmm very reasonable, so looked at balcony rooms, ahhhh not too bad. Then we saw the suites, and when I mentioned to OH that you got a butler, well lets say my cruises now cost more than a small country's debt. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
Not busy next week, smaller ship, nice itinerary, nice price.

MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
We went on our first cruise last April (Easter) to use up the last of my holiday before redundancy and starting new job.
We went with MSC flying with BA (free flights with Virgin sale) to Genoa
we were picked up at the airport by the cruise rep who got you on the coach and off to the port, very simple, getting off the coach your luggage is taken and you just walk through the booking area where you are given cabin keys ect and on to the ship. Luggage arrived at cabin by the time we got there.
We went Genoa - Rome - Sicily - Tunisia - Majorca - Valencia - Marseille - Genoa.
Food was great all week both buffets / fine dinning, the only thing that was a bit poor was the choice at the midnight buffet which was 90% pizza based - great for me but wife does not eat cheese so a bit stuffed.
We went for the all inclusive drinks package £20 per night each which was great value, the wine at the evening meal was worth that alone.
Trip wise we just did Rome & Tunisia, the others you could just walk off the ship and get local transport - far cheaper.
We had an outside balcony cabin which was great.
We will go again but more likely from USA / Caribbean next time.Totally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy0 -
