If your account is in credit, you don't have a bill to pay...
Policies on refunding credit balances vary from supplier to supplier, so check what SH's is.
Perhaps you could rephrase your question, as it's not clear. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
I presume you are paying by a fixed DD.
Do your bills say For Information Only ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
If you are paying quarterly the balances demanded will automatically accommodate any positive credit. But since you are asking the question one must assume you are paying by 'fixed' monthly direct debit (or monthly payment plan).
This is a good time of year to ask for a refund. Ask for one, don't wait for an automated annual or quarterly review. (But don't ask for too much - a couple of tenners off your debit each and every month over the next year may go a lot further and be preferable than an extra hundred in your pocket that disappears in weeks!)0 -
Sorry, I am paying a fixed monthly dd on each0

I suspect it is(technically) a variable monthly DD. i.e. you have given authority for the Energy supplier to vary the amount of the monthly DD; albeit they must inform you in advance.
The important point, that is not clear from your posts, is at what point in the billing cycle is your credit showing.
Bear in mind that your monthly payments are credited to your account monthly, but the cost for energy used is debited quarterly.
For instance if I pay, say, £120 a month on the first of each month, and look at my account today, it could show a £300 credit. However tomorrow my account could be debited with £350 for a quarterly bill and I will have a debit balance of £50. Then on 01 May my £120 DD is credited and I am £70 in credit; on 01 June a further £120 is credited and I am £190 in credit etc. So a credit figure is only really valid at the date of your quarterly bill.0
