more RAM to my Acer T180 desktop pc

Options
I want to add some more RAM to my Acer T180 desktop pc.

I have ran a Belarc scan and it shows-

1792 Megabytes Usable Installed Memory

Slot 'A0' has 1024 MB
Slot 'A1' has 1024 MB
Slot 'A2' is Empty
Slot 'A3' is Empty

But for the life of me I cant remember how to work out what kind of RAM I need and how much more I can get?

Any ideas?

Use the Crucial Scanner on their website-of course it's up to you whether you purchase from them or not.
Remember that 32 bit OS's generally can't address more than 4GB of RAM, even if you can physically install it.

So looks like you need to buy a matched pair of 2 x DDR2 1GB sticks which would give you an extra 2GB and 4GB in total, more than enough.

What's your reasoning for adding more ram? its quite an old machine by todays standards.
Do you have a 32bit or 64bit operating system? as already stated a 32 bit OS can only address around 3gb anyway

If your finding is running slower and slower it probably just needs resetting to factory (easier said than done)
If you really want to make it faster, the best upgrade you could do would be to put the operating system onto a solid state drive (SSD) and just use the current drive for data
