Hello all,
First time poster just in need of some advice as to were I stand.
I booked our honeymoon in January to Cape Verde, we were meant to be leaving on the 6th of May.
However they phoned me last week to tell me that it has moved to the 3rd of May.
I can't make the new dates so Thomas Cook have fully refunded the holiday.
However I asked if I could claim any compensation for the price of my train tickets to get to Gatwick from Newcastle (Approx £100) and surprise surprise I was told that no compensation would be offered.
I am unsure as to whether this falls under regulation 261/2004 or if there is any other way I can go about claiming this.
Any help and advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks
Graham

EU compensation does not apply as you have been given in excess of 2 weeks notice
Airlines are not responsible for consequential losses, you could try your travel insurance but depending on the excess it may not be worth it0 -

Can you not just get a refund on the train tickets minus the admin charge (normally around £10?) ive done this a few times before0
