Can anybody recomend a good free software to download photos from my Olympus digital camera to my PC? The software supplied,Olympus Master2 has stopped working, i have deleted the program and re-installed it from the disc supplied but everytime i try to open the program it states Olympus Master exe has encounted a problem and needs to close.
I have a lot of photos on my camera that i would like to download now and also for the future.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Can't you just plug it into your PC and copy everything into your pictures folder? Shouldn't be a need for the Olympus programme.

  • Hi, I have a copy of this Olympus disc which maybe I could make a copy for you to use if this would help.

I use my Olympus software to print my photos out and like the way it lets me put photos on a page, either 1 full page A4, 2 on an A4 page Or 3 or 4 on an A4 page. Does anyone know any other programmes that allow print set up like this?

What programmes do others use for printing their photos?

    Thanks

I agree with this, I've only ever used copy and paste to transfer digital photos from camera to computer, I can't see why you would have to use Olympus software.

I use free Google Picasa to import pics to PC and then print to any size using Picasa

    no camera software required

Wasting your time people, OP hasn't been back in 3 days.
Like others, I've only ever used Explorer to move stuff around from various devices.
From sorting many machines, this additional layer of software, with it's updaters etc, just loads more un-necessary carp at startup.
    Move along, nothing to see.
  • Thanks for the additional info re the Picassa printing options. I do have Picassa on my laptop but when I did print out a while ago if I put for instance a 6x4photo paper into my printer, asked for a 6x4print I sometimes found that The printer didn't line up on the paper. It printed over the edge of the paper no the ink got onto my roller and thereafter I got black lines on my next umpteen pages of printing. I just don't want this to happen again. Humph!! Must be me doing something wrong.

Thanks again, i have downloaded Picasa, it looks good but it downloaded al the pictures from my camera,to try it again i took one more random picture and tried to download it but it downloaded all the pictures again!
I also tried to download straight from the camera to windows but windows xp does not reconise my olympus fe 5020 camera,it gives a drop down box of all camera,s when prompted to add a camera to my computor.

Please make ammends for the fact that i am over 60 and not as pc compotent as the rest of you.
