I can think of two reasons why I am inclined to think the left hand lane driver is more "in the wrong". The first is that the roundabout is still a carriageway and what you seem to be saying is that he is "undertaking".

It's a one-way street, so it's perfectly OK to overtake on the left. Safely.

I do that roundabout maybe once or twice a year, so I don't know it well enough to know which lane to take. It always scares me but I read the markings on the road and on the road signs and follow them. I think they are pretty clear.

If you Own an Audi, you can drive all the way round in the left lane undertaking everyone and cutting across slip roads.
They give you a drive like a **** card because you drive an Audi at the garage.

If it's your commute route and you know the lanes, all well and good. I find that most advance lane markings are poor, the on road markings being of course covered in busy slow traffic.

I dont drive in London often as it just isnt worth the hassle but when I do I find the signage/ markings actually to be very good (in west London at least).

Those who commute often are possibly the worst with their lane discipline as they know where the quiet/busy lanes and will frequently go into a quiet lane knowing its not what they want and then cut across at the last minute into the lane thats going where they want.
