I've got an Amex/Visa combo from MBNA and I suspect the 3rd party issuers will ditch the non-Amex part.reclusive46 wrote: »This is a misunderstanding that many newsites have mis-posted.
American Express issued cards themselves won't be affected at all by the caps (atleast not directly, they'll have to lower their fees to compete with Visa and MasterCard very slightly) and Third party amex cards won't be affected for atleast 3/4 years (And even then member states have the power not to enforce that rule on them). This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I have just upgraded to this Dual Cashback account but haven't received my cards yet, here is some information on it.

Wonder if they've pulled the card from upgrades?I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -

In theory 700,000 customers have this cash back set up.
My cards still work and I have heard nothing from Barclays about the cards being withdrawn/replaced.
I will go somewhere else if they pull them.0 -

Barclaycard has atleast a 5 year deal with Amex to issue cards on their network, so they can't pull the existing ones.0 -
I can't obviously compare to your current words but the Visa/Amex Duo is my everyday spending card. Until December I had an unused Barclaycard Platinum, so after seeing this card mentioned on here I rang to ask for it to be changed to the Duo.
Until December I used my MBNA Virgin Atlantic White and accrued many miles, and still have a premium economy upgrade waiting for me. As great as this sounds having the cashback works better for me.0
