Scratch on new brake disc

I'd want that replaced!
Any use of a grinder, pry bar etc would be on removing the caliper and carrier, not on replacing them, so can't think how it would have got there. You can't miss it either so I suspect they put it on hoping for the best0 -
colino - new discs and pads fitted last week.
I've had a closer look and it seems like a deep scratch rather than a crack. I will be getting it replaced but wondered how on earth it was caused in the first place. Any sort of damage to remove the caliper would have been done to the old disc, not the new one which makes me think it was caused in manufacture.0 -
"and the scratch looks like the fitter levering out the stuck caliper, a while later, to put on the new pads he'd forgotten about."0

I wouldn't be breaking sweat over that as swipe says it will be gone soon enough.0
