Anyone familiar with the Nationwide Select Credit card?

I don't know when this credit card was introduced but the 0.5% cashback is of interest to me, having been informed by Capital One this morning that I will be losing the 1.0% cashback element at the end of May.
Seems I 'qualify' due to having a FlexAccount, hopefully it won't be going the same way (into the trash can) due to the latest EU edict?

I see this cash back card is promoted on MoneySupermarket, but it doesn't appear to be listed (promoted?) here on MoneySavingExpert - or, have I missed something?0

I have both of them capital one classic extra and Nationwide Select credit card.
AFAIK, Capital one never pays 1% cash back, it has always been 0.5% for all purchases with no limit to the cash-back you can earn, I have not received any letter about any change.
Regarding NW select, I just check my last month statement the cash back of 0.5% on STERLING purchase is still there also I have not got any letter suggesting otherwise.
Both cards are zero fee for purchase in foreign currency so good to keep it even if they have decided to withdraw the cashback.
Hope this answer your question …0 -
I have one, it's a great card:
- 0% on new purchases for 17 months IIRC (I've passed this period, sadly)
- 0.5% cashback on £ purchases
- No exchange rate load or fees0 -
Thanks folks, I wasn't suggesting Nationwide would scrap the 0.5% cashback but wonder if they might be pressured into it given the CapitalOne letters to customers..0

Meant to add - Sorry, but Capital One have paid 1% cashback for years!0

Well anything might happen, but unless a Nationwide board member is posting we won't know until it happens. So why not get one and hope for the best? Or, if your CC purchases fall within their criteria, get a Santander 123 card and earn a lot more than you will with the Select card (I have both and use them as appropriate).0 -
For those that have had this card for a while do NW continue to offer 0% Balance/Money Transfers for existing customer ?0
