Stone chips and damage from speeding driver
Slighltly peeved by this but not sure if there's much to be done but suck it up.
I was driving along a 60 road at 60 when the **** who had been up my !!!! the entire duration of the 30 zone behind us decided to overtake leaving very little space between us as there was on oncoming vehicle making him cut back in far too close and throw a large stone up across the bonnet and into the windscreen of my car, leaving a bunch of scratches and a deep chip on the first impact.
When I get in I've also noticed there's a good few scratches to the paint on the bonnet.
The guy was definitely speeding, I was at 60 when he overtook and he also went on to do the same thing to two other cars in front.
Anything that can be done?
Cheers.

I guess what it boils down to is can you prove anything? If not I think you'll have to suck it up sadly.0

Do you know how many people pass or tailgate me when i'm driving at the speed limit in anything but a 30mph zone????
In the last 3 years, in the last 40'000 miles.......... Three people.
In 30mph zones its another story, as all the "42mph everywhere on every road" idiots can't compute having to do 30mph.
Stone chips, car parking damage, this is why I drive an 11yr old car to work each day. I save the best for weekends.....
My old car took half house brick to the windscreen, which was lodged between the rear tyres of a large truck and came flying toward me at about 50mph + the speed of the wheels rotation.
Sh*t happens.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Do you mean about the speeding or the damage?
You know the answer to the damage - you suck it up.
And you cannot prove the speeding.0 -
Bad luck I'm afraid. You've literally got no chance of anything being done. I have a dashcam in my car, it records pretty much everything and has a surprisingly wide image. After some road resurfacing, there were dozens of signs along the road not to overtake because of loose stones and stones being thrown up. There were also some signs with a recommended speed limit of 20 miles an hour.
No surprise, the first day I drove through some !!!!nugget in an Estate car pilled past at about 50mph spraying loose debris into my windscreen and chipping the front of my car and a big one on my bonnet. I contacted the police and showed the footage but was informed that "signs put up after roadworks are merely 'guidelines' for road drivers and were not legally enforceable".
If a case as slam dunk as mine, with video evidence wasn't enough then you just have no chance.0
