They've been talking about this on our local radio this morning, apparently the number of people getting their cars clamped has gone up by thousands as people don't realise that those few weeks, or even few days between someone selling a taxed car changes to someone buying an untaxed one.
Was this another Tory stealth tax where cars can be taxed twice for the same month, first by the seller then again by a new buyer.

I was reading about that this morning SailorSam. I saw an ad over the weekend with a car being sold with 6 months tax still left, and it was from a trader!

It's a pain though that over here we are unable to tax new cars online (as they can on the mainland) and can only tax online if we already own the car.
