Surely, capital expenditure is not a trading loss?
Of course it is ! Either by Annual Investment allowance or capital allowances - they write down the net profit and can easily create a loss if the expense is large - like purchase of a van. The government increased AIA to encourage businesses to invest and spend money in the economyStuck on the carousel in Disneyland's Fantasyland

I'm quite shocked someone who sells their services as a book keeper is asking advice on an Internet forum about tax, profits & loss!
How are you going to do your clients work? Post on here & hope someone can advise....
So far in my course we haven't covered 'benefits' and I don't think we will. I'm sure I will pick this up with experience. My thread wasn't about tax or profit & loss. I have that covered. But thanks for your imput. :T0
