How would I connect a wireless 360 pad to a PC running windows 8.1?

I have a charge and play kit, but the pc doesn't recognise that as a console (it sees it as an unspecificed device). Is there no way for that to work as a wired connection via usb?0

No, the play and charge kit only supplies power over USB - no data communication.0 -
