Thomson gift cards

Hiya

I'm new to the site so apologies if this is in the wrong section!
We've got £580 worth of Thomson Gift Cards but I have recently become insulin dependent and don't want to travel at the minute and the insurance is ridiculous so I wondered if anyone knew if there was anything we could do about getting the money back?

Thanks in advance!

I doubt you could get your money back.

    Maybe read this:
    http://www.thomson.co.uk/editorial/features/gift-cards/thomson-gift-cards.html

It does say that the cards can't be exchanged for cash and expire after 2 years of non-use.
  • I very much doubt you will be able to exchange them for cash.

Have you considered trying to sell them on, or are they just for your use solely?

With regards to the travel insurance, have you had a few different quotes? I occasionally quote for travel insurance as part of my job and insulin dependent people don't always see a huge rise in cost. Also a holiday might do you good, and depending when you can travel, you could probably get a nice all inclusive with those vouchers and not have to pay much else when you're on holiday.
  • What about visiting your local Thomson shop and see if you can exchange them for travel to somewhere closer to home?

I'm thinking UK Channel Islands etc.
If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.
  • Thanks for the responses!

The travel insurance was working out to be about £100 - £150 which just seems too expensive at the minute!

If they're the same type of thing as Thomas Cook vouchers then you can use them in any Thomson shop to purchase anything other than foreign currency ie Butlins, Warners, Pontins, Superbreak, Shearings, cruise around the UK, or sell them on ebay.
