I am going to walk to the market and back, which is approximately a 3 mile round trip so I can save fuel, and buy just enough fruit and veg for the week. I am then going to make a comprehensive meal plan for the week using up store cupboard ingredients because we are so low on money this month and can only afford absolute essentials.
I am also going to check my bank bank online because, although I had been doing well reducing my debts and budgeting, there have been some big expenses and I have far less money than I thought we had.
I also want to try and feel as though I am in control again and on a strict minimum spending campaign because for the past few nights I have been lying awake at night worrying about money and worrying that if any unexpected expenses crop up (car breaks down , big lectricity bill comes in etc) I could not cope and consequently I feel tired and anxious.0 -

I know how you feel Valentia - but try not to fret about it
I;m currently 'ebaying for council tax' - gah. One day, one day.
Today i've:
* Made packed lunch using last nights leftover pasta and salad
* Counted £4 of change from Louis the Money Pig (and have accidentally left it at home and not banked it. Doh).0 -
Good morning everyone

The weather is looking a bit iffy here in "sunny" Wrexham
The first thing I did today to help me with keeping costs down is forgot my handbag
So i have no money to spend even if i wanted to
I also need to look in the loft this evening for my course work folder and let my tutor know what certificates I have for the course I have completed. Which will earn me £100 once I get all my certs :j
Also need to get some stuff on ebay really!
And I think thats it for today :TMarch 2006 £15,200+ in debt April £843.64 in debt - Debt Free date Sept 2009
Egg Credit Card - £843.64 5.7%0 -
Well I've had a pretty crap day in general.. loads of things, but money-wise am p*ssed off as one of my credit card companies (who I have been paying regularly) have decided to pass my account over to the nasty Moorcroft - dunno why, but I suppose at least it means no more interest! I'm also unimpressed with work as I've got the chance for some overtime this month (very rarely happens) - for one shift they've decided to send me to another site which is a pain to get to, and it doesn't look like I'm getting the other possible shift... Had a moan to one of my friends about stuff and she said I should try and book myself a holiday or something to cheer me up - what the hell with??!!
Anyway, in the DFW attempts, I have put my current total in my signature in the hope that this'll inspire me to get it down (at the moment I feel like just giving up and running away from it all). I've done the snowballing thing which is giving me a DF date of Jan 2012 at current rate of paying things, but I really want to get it done by the end of 2009 as I'll be thirty shortly after that
I've also had a look at local jobs sites to see if I could find anything part-time for a couple of evenings a week to boost my income but not having much luck there.. may just have to trail round the shops etc asking instead. I've also looked into doing some more OU courses so I can finish my degree, and it looks as if I should be able to get the fees paid - unfortunately I just tried to register for one and it said there was a problem with the site.. but that's really just typical of the way today has gone so I'm not surprised!!
Valencia - I know exactly how you feel, I manage from month to month, but really struggle if something big comes up.
Moan over :rolleyes:Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Today I
- did an economy wash and put towels on line to dry
- bought a chrissie pres in boots sale and paid with points, thus costing me nil
- answered some questions to my ebay listings so hopefully will get good sale when they finish tonight
- have sourced some more items to list on ebay, but probably wont get round to listing them today, maybe photographing though
- spent more money than planned in asda, but paid using a giftcard I had, so only cost me £60 -
Not much for me today,
checked freezer and cupboards and decided not to go to asda as I don't "need" anything really.Although would have spent £50 if I had gone:rolleyes:
Bought DD a weekly bus pass for £7 instead of giving her £2 -£3 a day for meeting her friends etc.
Checked online banking, Roll on the 15th - payday-0 -

Today I:
* bagged up some coins that were kicking about
* paid these into the bank alone with a cheque
* finally picked up my bus pass after 8 months of trying to get one !!! this should save me at least £2 a day - brucie bonus!
* cooked a nice dinner from the fridge
* made a packed lunch for tomorrow at work
* checked online banking
* used free texts and minutes to contact mates
:heartpuls CG :heartpulsEver wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0 -

Today's been a good day:
Lunch was left over chicken and vegtable pasta bake from Sunday night (yes I now work somewhere with a fridge and microwave I can actually use :j:j
Parked in Sainsburys carpark when I went to the dentist and paid £2 but went in there and did the shopping so got £2 back and therefore free parking :money:
Stuck almost entirely to list at the supermarket and came in at £45 - better than usual but needs to be lower the next two weeks if I'm going to make the grocery challenge
My dinner was scrambled eggs and fried mushrooms on toast to use up some nearly out of date eggs/old mushrooms :A
Currently working on a birthday/christmas etc pressie budget and trying to convince OH we need to save for this now as we'll be in trouble in december if we don't.
