Thailand spending money

Hi there,
My friends and I are considering travelling to Thailand this summer for a 2 week trip. We would be looking to spend a few days in Bangkok then 2/3 other places. Maybe Phi Phi and Phuket but that will be determined later.
Im curious as to how much everyone thinks the trip would cost.
Flights are currently £430 from Glasgow.
In terms of accommodation, we'll happily stay in a cheap place thats half decent and we wont be looking for 3 course meals.
I know there's a lot to consider in terms of spending money but does anyone have any recommendations on how much to take, EXCLUDING flights?
Thanks in advance

Hotels are generally very good value in Asia. It doesn't sound like you need expensive accomodation, however I think you will likely be expecting decent facilities like a pool etc?
I'm sure you could probably get a room for £25 pp in a decent enough place (based on 2 sharing). A meal out is unlikely to cost more than £10 unless you want something fancier. Depends how much alcohol you drink in the evenings as well, however this can vary in price dramatically, from £1 a drink to about £15 per drink in a sky bar in Bangkok! I'm guessing you may wish to experience some of the nice places too!
We did a 9 night trip recently - Bangkok/Hua Hin/Bangkok (3/3/3nts). We had breakfast included, plus we had snacks and drinks in a lounge on our last 3 nights, meaning we only went out for a bite to eat, a walk and then maybe a drink or two later. You will need internal flights to go to Phuket and Phi Phi, so that will cost more too.
Perhaps £400 upwards just for food/drinks etc, plus add in something for internal flights and hotels. I think you're talking £1200 per person in total as a minimum.0 -

One of the many great things about Thailand is that you can spend as much or as little as you like and still have a good time. At the bottom end a room can be £5 and a meal from a market stall less than a £1.
Mid-range, you can get some fantastic accommodation for £40 a night in Bangkok and £20-30 elsewhere. Alcohol prices are cheaper than here but all of the beers and cocktails do add up. Wine is typically more expensive as it is imported. Try to eat Thai/Asian food as much as possible as you will always pay a premium for Western dishes
Top-end, you can spend anything you want.
For hotels try: http://www.sawadee.com/ and http://www.asiawebdirect.com/thailand/ as well as the usual sites.
If you do take cash then always take a backup credit/debit card in case of emergencies or unexpected expenses.0
