Evening,
Looking for some advice with respect to the estate of a family member. The estate has been valued over the IHT threshold of £325k. Part of the estate (half of the money) has been left to the spouse of the late family member with the remainder left to the children.
Can anyone advise if I am correct in saying that the value of the money left to the spouse is classed as an 'Exempt Transfer'?
This case is in Scotland if that makes any difference.
