I find First Direct's Internet Banking Plus to be very helpful for this, as it lets you log into all your other bank's online systems in one click, great for doing lots of logins and manual transfers.

Agreed, have used this for years and it saves lots of hassle. Only slight problem are accounts like HSBC and Barclays that have pesky external login credential toys!

In the main, yes. The worst that can happen, providing you only use SOs from 'full' accounts, is, in the case of Tesco who do, apparently, process SOs at weekends, a loss of interest on the Tesco account.

Of course this is eliminated if you have 2 or more Tesco accounts and cross-fund them internally.

The Tesco bank a/c's pay 3% on 3K. Nice enough for me, I'm a non tax payer. No d/d's req'd - an added positive point.

I'd like that 3% but I've looked at Tesco's website and the highest rate I can see is 2.60% gross.

The 3% is on the Tesco Current Account - you've been looking at their savings accounts.
