Help - noise on new car

Hey all
I have bought a new car and is under warranty, but before I take it in for someone to take a look at (and possibly save my embarrassment if its something silly) I was hoping for some advice on here first.
I have a brand new VW Polo GT with about 600 miles on the clock. When driving (with no music on) I hear a whirring noise, like something is turning. This only happens when I initially start the engine (it then stops whilst idle), then when I drive it. I can only explain it as something is spinning - but what, and why?
It may be something silly but its annoying (especially now Ive noticed it), and my partner has a new Golf and hers doesn't do it.
Any advice?

Which part of the car does the noise come from?0

Take it back to the dealer for a proper diagnosis and explanation. They won't think you are daft. We get customers doing 100 mile round trips back to the garage because the drivers seat won't adjust fore and aft or so they think.
No sir. It is that lever there, not that one.
Why can't people read the effin manual. You have a genuine concern so call in and see them.0 -

If you meant take it back to the dealer, I apologise, but my first reading was that the "someone" might be someone else, like a local garage or a mate.If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0 -
Thanks for the advice guys, it's appreciated.
The noise comes from the front end of the car, sounds like it's under the bonnet, but not really sure to be honest, seems like the front right hand side0 -
You previously reported you were taking your car to the dealer to look at this problem, but you never came back with what they said. What did the previous diagnostic visit bring to light ?You scullion! You rampallian! You fustilarian! I’ll tickle your catastrophe (Henry IV part 2)0

As the previous poster suggested, take a look at my new thread, although the latest thread was asking about rejecting my car due to these problems, not this specific problem.
But the dealer said it was fuel pump/pinking which are two different issues0
