So we have finally reached our final destination, Dubai. I managed to get a very good deal for Atlantis last year through Destinology....anywhoo
Today we arrive, all goes well until we get to the room......it's got damp carpet and smells of dampness, we had to rush out so couldn't sort it out immediately.
We return and I decide there is just NO WAY IN HELL I'm going to stay in this room for 4 nights. I politely inform Guest Services and at first they say we can give you room spray, which I irritably inform them won't fix the problem of wetness and damp smell!
They agree to send housekeeping up, and send a sweet guy who doesn't speak a word of english! Give me strength! I opt for the "kill them with kindness" routine and I ask (sign language) him to take off his socks to feel the dampness to which he obliges and agrees, even though he smelt the dampness upon entry anyway.
Very long story short, Management came up, after a few minutes of back and forth and me smiling and being extra nice they offered me a bigger room with balcony and threw in a few sweet treats!
This is how you take care of your customers! I wish other companies could take a leaf out of their book!
I will post in Praise & Vent section too.

Erm... doesn't this hotel charge around £400 a night for their cheapest rooms?
Even so, I can't see many hotels in the world that wouldn't allow you to swap rooms if the carpet was wet!0 -
We went camping for the weekend by the sea-side. The site we had been allocated was all bumpy and could even be felt through the 1-inch foam mattress I sleep on.
I complained and the campsite owners let us move pitch to a flatter piece of ground - well done site owners!I am a cow so cannot speak Bullshine but I do recognise its smell when I come upon it.0 -
I had tea at the ritz. There was not cucumber in my sandwiches but mouldy seaweed. I asked them to replace the mouldy seaweed with cucumber and they obliged. Well done!0

For the amount they charge to stay there they should have been throwing rose petals under your feet everywhere you walked as well!
My boss just arrived back from the very same hotel where he stayed last week and said it was just 'ok'....but then he stayed at the Burj last year so I don't suppose it would have been anything more to him once he'd been to the Burj!0 -
I went to the corner shop with me pocket money and got 10 bubblies.
