Other "respected" insurers have the clause that the car must have a MOT and will try and use it to reject a claim.


They don't need telling the FOS will uphold a complaint over them enforcing these clauses, but some policyholders will just accept their fate and not complain!

As you've seen from the OP's post this evening, even though Diamond have a similar clause to the one you posted in post 8, they have actually confirmed they will cover the replacement car.

I would not expect anything else from the type of Insurers you've just given as examples. Excluding LV they are all Insurers at the "Not all that" end of the market
