It can be easier, if your existing bank is happy with the way your account has been managed.

Yes, sometimes they do ask you questions. You need a reason, such as managing your finances, keeping household expenses separate from personal etc

If you apply online there might not be any such question, or you may be presented with a list of options, in which case just select the most appropriate

Thanks Badger. I might then look into whether i can set up another Santander curdent account for eventual switching purposes.
