Does anyone know of any bank who will allow a student account for a student not attending a university but will be attending a full time private college? Seems to be a shortage of info or choice for this.

I doubt it: the student account usually requires that the student loan is paid in (not always) so if not getting a loan then could be tricky.
But what sort of private college is it? That might make a difference. Also is it a 'higher' education course, ie equivalent to university?Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Hi
The course is for a three year full time nanny course (DCE), two years in college and third yr placement. Entry is with 5 GCSE grades. Guaranteed employment 5:1 after third yr. Student will have similar costs as uni student living away from home, etc. Parents financing this on a monthly basis but without even a student bank loan to help out it all seems so unfair. Student 18 just after course starts. Any ideas?0 -
I'd say not a hope of a student account, because this is not a sufficiently advanced course to be able to argue that even though they're not entitled to a loan it's equivalent to a detree.
But I'm not an expert, so it would be worth the student touting around a few banks and asking directly.
So, let's look at the other side of it. How can the student help? Get a job - babysitting! Evenings while at college, catch up on work while they're there, daytime babysitting during holidays. Make sure they REALLY want this job at the end ...Signature removed for peace of mind0
