Patio doors replacement advice

Hi, I'm looking to replace some old tilt and slide patio doors (about 1.5m wide x 2.1m high).
I like the ventilation and security from tilt & slide and wondered whether to replace like with like, can they still be bought? Or are there other sorts of patio door combinations that allow 'partially open' doors for some ventilation?
Also what should I look for in new patio doors, of any type, thanks.

I assume you mean old style sliding patio doors? We've replaced our 20 year old one like for like as although they may be considered more dated in appearance than double opening doors, they're so much more practical. You can have them partially open, the bar up the centre is about the same size so no issue of them blocking out any more light than double doors would, and your whole patio is useable as oposed to leaving swing room for the doors. Ok so you can only walk out of half the opening as oposed to the whole opening as you could with double doors but how many people do you need to get in and out in one go!? Plus doors that open out flap and bang in the wind so you have to prop them open.
We've had both styles of doors and no question the sliding door wins hands down. The new one glides beautifully too after our rusty old one :-)
Our new one is just a white upvc standard sliding patio door with trickle vents at the top for ventilation like windows have. The new ones are secure as well, the old ones can be levered off their tracks by a burgular so it's not a bad idea to replace them.0
